Sentinel Spectrum Chews for Dogs
What is Sentinel Spectrum?
Sentinel Spectrum is a monthly tasty chew for the prevention and control of fleas, heartworm and intestinal worms in dogs. Sentinel Spectrum Tasty Chews are beef-flavoured, and studies have shown they are so palatable that 97% of dogs accept them straight from the hand. It kills adult fleas and breaks their life cycle.
How It Works?
Sentinel Spectrum consists of three active components:
- Milbemycin oxime
Milbemycin oxime hinders with the nerve transmission in invertebrates which assists in protection against heartworm, roundworm, hookworm and whipworm.
Praziquantel causes muscle spasm in tapeworm, which are then attacked by enzymes and disintegrate. It kills all intestinal forms of tapeworm except Spirometra spp, which require a higher than standard dose rate.
Lufenuron is an insect growth regulator which breaks off the flea breeding cycle. Adult fleas that fed on dogs treated with Sentinel Spectrum will produce eggs or larvae that do not develop to adult stage. Therefore it reduces the number of fleas in the environment.
When all these three are combined together it results in total destruction of fleas, heartworms and intestinal worms in dogs.
