What is Nexgard?
Nexgard Chewable, powered by breakthrough technology, is an exceptional oral flea and tick treatment for dogs. The one chew rapidly kills fleas and ticks for a full month. The only oral flea and tick control product protects dogs from fleas, Lone Star ticks, Black-legged ticks, American dog ticks, and Brown dog ticks. The monthly dosage treats flea infestation and fight against flea allergy dermatitis. The tasty beef-flavoured chew is easy to administer. Can be used on puppies as young as 8 weeks and more than 2kg.
Nexgard: Lyme Disease Prevention
Nexgard for dogs comes with a quick flea and tick-killing ability. It starts killing fleas within four hours of administration. This beef-flavored chewable treats and controls a variety of tick infestations including Black-legged ticks, American dog ticks, Lone Star ticks, and Brown dog ticks.
Black-legged ticks (deer ticks) transmit the bacteria (Borrelia burgdorferi) that cause Lyme disease. This bacteria travels to various parts of your dog's body and causes symptoms like, fever, lameness, lethargy, and inflammation of joints. Nexgard is quick to act against ticks. It rapidly kills black-legged ticks before the infection can be spread and thus prevents Lyme disease in dogs.
How Does NexGard® (afoxolaner) Work?
This powerful flea and tick oral treatment contain a new molecule – afoxolaner that has been formulated for veterinary use in dogs. During feeding on dog’s blood, fleas, and ticks ingest the ingredient afoxolaner, which causes hyperexcitation and subsequent death of these parasites. This one chew, when given monthly, provides full protection against fleas and ticks, all year round.
