What is Valuheart?

Valuheart is a monthly generic heartworm preventive tablet which has been designed to provide cost-effective alternative to control heartworm disease without compromising on safety. But this treatment is not effective against adult stage Dirofilia immitis, but it may reduce the number of circulating microfilariae to undetectable levels. This treatment uses the same active ingredient as in Heartgard tablets.

How It Works?

Valuheart consists of Ivermectin, a broad spectrum antiparasitic drug which acts as a lethal force to eliminate the tissue stage of heartworm larvae that infected the dog in the month before treatment. This ingredient eliminates heartworm larvae thus preventing heartworm disease from affecting your pet.

How to Use
Directions

  • The proper dose should be given at monthly intervals
  • The tablets may be offered by hand or added to the food. The tablet may be wrapped in food to encourage consumption
  • The initial dose must be given within one month of the first exposure to mosquitoes
  • However, Valuheart Heartworm Tablets also control heartworm infection when treatment is initiated up to four months after exposure to infected mosquitoes, provided monthly treatment is continued for at least 12 months
  • The final dose must be given within one month after the last exposure to mosquitoes
  • Can be used in puppies from 6 weeks of age
  • When replacing another heartworm preventive product in a heartworm disease preventive program, the first dose of Valuheart Heartworm Tablets must be given within one month of the last dose of the former medication

Administering the tablet:

  • Before commencing the treatment it is advisable to get your pet checked thoroughly for any prevailing heartworms
  • If the results for heartworm microfilaria are negative then start administering Valuheart Heartworm tablet to your dog
  • The very first step is to weigh your pet
  • Give one tablet directly into mouth
  • Mix the chewable along with the food of the dog
  • Make sure that all the food is eaten by your for effectiveness of the treatment

(Note: - In case of dogs weighing more than 40 kg administer a combination of tablets.)

Safety
Safety

  • Get your pet thoroughly checked for heartworm infection once it has been negated then start the treatment
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets
  • Store it at room temperature 15 - 30°C
  • This treatment is specifically for dogs
  • Wash hands after administering the tablets

Contraindications:

  • Do not give this treatment to puppies younger than 6 weeks of age
  • If your dog is allergic to Ivermectin do not administer the tablet to him

    • Caution:Collies including Border Collies and other breeds are sensitive to Ivermectin. Please consult your vet before giving this treatment or look for alternatives to Ivermectin for the treatment of parasites.
