Apoquel – Fast-acting and effective itch-relief tablets

Apoquel is a remarkable, effective, fast-acting and safe itch-relief formula for dogs. It is the no.1 vet-recommended solution for quick and effective relief of itch and inflammation due to flea allergy, food allergy, contact allergy, atopic allergy and allergy dermatitis. The potent oral tablet has been indicated for the control of pruritus associated with allergic dermatitis and control of atopic dermatitis in dogs.

If your dog is scratching, licking, or chewing like crazy, this can be the best and effective option to provide a fast, effective relief. Within 4 hours of administering this tablet, your dog will start to feel less itchy, and within 24 hours, it will be completely protected against allergies that cause itching or scratching. It can be used for both long-term maintenance and short-term treatment in dogs 12 months of age and weighing 6.6 lbs or more.

Note: Apoquel is given twice daily, for up to 14 days, and then once daily for maintenance treatment. Speak to your vet for the right dosage and course of treatment.

How does Apoquel (Oclacitinib) for Dogs work?

Apoquel contains an active ingredient —Oclacitinib. It acts as a Janus Kinase Inibitor (JAK) and works by inhibiting chemicals in the dog’s body called cytokines which stops the function of JAK1 and JAK3 (itch causing enzymes) and help curb the dog’s need to itch, thus allowing the area to heal properly.

Safety
Safety

  • Do NOT use Apoquel in dogs less than 12 months of age and weighing less than 6.6 pounds.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Do NOT administer the product to cats.
  • Dose of Apoquel must be followed as per the given dosage table.
  • Wash hands after using the product.
  • Store it in a cool and dry place.

Contraindications:

  • Apoquel may increase the chances of most common side effects like vomiting and diarrhea (tolerable by most dogs).
  • The use of Apoquel has not been evaluated in combination with receiving some commonly used treatments for skin conditions such as corticosteroids and cyclosporines.
