Panacur Paste – Worming Oral Treatment for Dogs and Cats

What is Panacur Paste?

Panacur Oral Paste is a wide spectrum worming treatment for dogs and cats. It treats roundworms and tapeworms in dogs, cats, kittens and puppies. The oral treatment is effective against lungworm infections in dogs and cats. It comes in syringe for easy and accurate dosage for the treatment. The paste is highly palatable thus readily accepted by dogs and cats as well as puppies and kittens.

How It Works?

Panacur Oral Paste consists of an active ingredient fenbendazole. It is a strong anthelmintic. The active ingredient treats and controls mature and immature stages of nematodes of the gastro-intestinal and respiratory tracts. The oral treatment has an ovicidal effect on nematode eggs. The anthelmintic is also used to treat lungworms in dogs and cats.

How to Use
Directions

  • Should be given orally.
  • Mix it in food or sprinkle it over the food.
  • Ensure that the pet takes the entire meals for complete dosage.
  • The standard dosage is 100 mg per 1 kg for dogs and cats.
  • Adult dogs and cats should be wormed routinely 2 to 4 times a year, 6 to 8 times in higher risk situations e.g. breeding kennels and catteries
  • Puppies and kittens should be treated from 2 weeks old and then 3 to 4 more times until the age of 12 weeks.
  • For the effective, simple control of roundworms, Panacur should be given continuously to bitches and queens from day 40 of pregnancy to 2 days after birth. This is important to ensure the puppies and kittens are not infected in the period after birth.

Dosage:

Dosage for adult dogs and cats:

  • Each 5g syringe is sufficient to dose up to 9 kg bodyweight as a single dose.

Dosage for puppies and kittens under six months of age:

  • Each 5g syringe is sufficient to dose up to 6kg bodyweight for 3 consecutive days.
