Sentinel Flavor Tabs for Dogs

What is Sentinel? Sentinel is a palatable pork, liver-flavored tablet for dogs that offers broad-spectrum protection against both external and internal parasites. This monthly formula for dogs is composed of high-quality ingredients to protect four weeks and older puppies and dogs that weigh 2 lbs or greater.

Sentinel Flea and Worm Treatment Sentinel for dogs prevents and controls fleas. This monthly tablet for dogs prevents heartworm disease caused by Dirofilaria immitis. It controls adult hookworms and kills and controls roundworm and whipworm infestations. To achieve complete flea control, it is recommended to use an adulticide in conjunction with Sentinel.

How does Sentinel work?

Sentinel Flavor Tabs for dogs contain two powerful ingredients, lufenuron and milbemycin oxime. Lufenuron breaks the flea life cycle by preventing egg development and stopping them from maturing into adults. Milbemycin oxime interferes with the neurotransmission of parasites. It kills the tissue stage of heartworm larvae and thus prevents heartworm disease. Plus, it eliminates the adult stage of hookworm, roundworm, and whipworm infestations.

How to Use
Directions

  • Administer Sentinel Flavor Tabs orally, once every month.
  • The recommended minimum dosage is 0.23mg/lb milbemycin oxime and 4.55mg/lb lufenuron.
  • Alternatively, these tablets can be given by hiding in dog food. For optimum results, ensure that the dog completes the meal.
  • For adequate absorption of the treatment, give Sentinel Flavor Tablets immediately after or together with their regular meal.

Safety

A transient shock like reaction may occur on giving Sentinel to a dog with adult heartworm infection. To avoid this, it is a must to consult a veterinarian and get your dog tested for adult heartworm infection. If found infected get the dog treat first for the adult heartworm infection and then after start Sentinel treatment.

Sentinel is safe to be given to puppies from 6 weeks of age and breeding dogs. Also, it can be given to collies dogs which are sensitive to ivermectin.

Though it is highly safe but in some rare cases the dog might show adverse reactions like vomiting, diarrhea, depression or pruritus. Please contact your vet in case of any unusual signs displayed after treatment.
